Gloria Dean Nivens, 61, 99 Gilmer Street, Gastonia passed away August 11, 2009 at her residence, after a long battle with breast cancer
She was a native of Gaston County, daughter of the William and Annie Bell Helms Parton. Gloria worked at Social Services for many years, she was a member of South Gastonia Pentecostal Holiness Church
She was preceded in death by her parents, sons: Aaron and Gary Henderson; brothers: Robert and Jimmy Parton; sisters: Bertie Ellen Bolin, Mildred Patterson and Doris Parton
Survivors include her children: daughters: Shannon Downam and husband Billy;
Gloria Stone, all of Gastonia;
Jimmy Adams of Cherryville
Brothers: Billy Parton, Sr. and wife Sandy, David Lee Parton and wife Vickie, all of Gastonia;
Sister, Lola Faye McDonald of Gastonia
Grandsons: Dylan and Aaron Stone
Family will receive friends 6-8 Wednesday, August 12 at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home
Funeral Service will be 2:00pm-Thursday, at South Gastonia Pentacostal Holiness Church with Rev. Shady Lane and Rev. Lucille Smith officiating
Interment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park
Pallbearers: Billy Parton, Jr., Billy Downam, Ronnie Dale, Brandon Gosnell, Brent Parton and Bernard Burris
