Ginny May Parton

Virginia May Parton, 79, passed away peacefully on October 4, 2024 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center with her family by her side. 

She was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on June 8, 1945 to the late Stanley Barnett and Margaret Hobbs. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ronnie Parton; sisters, Constance Milewski and Susie Gormley; and her brother, Calvin Hobbs. 

Ginny was an amazing mother and grandmother who loved to spend time with her family and brought so much joy to their lives. She leaves many happy memories to be cherished by all who knew and loved her. 

She is survived by her daughters, Sheri Haywood (Terry) and Joann Hearn; her four grandchildren, Sydney Locklear (Taylor), Jackson Wood, Mallory Hearn, and Hampton Hearn; and her two beloved cats, BB and Oliver. 

Family and friends are invited to gather to remember Ginny on Friday, October 11, 2024 from 10:00 am – 11:00 am at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home and a memorial service to follow at 11:00 am in the chapel with Pastor Dale Lawing officiating. 

The family would like to express their deep appreciation to Betty Hoffman, Denise Buffin, Kathy Ballard and Raymond Clark for their love and support to Ginny over the years.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to an animal charity or rescue of your choice.
