Gerald "Jack" Jackson Huggins, a dedicated businessman and cherished family member, passed away on March 8, 2025, at Atrium Health in Lincolnton, North Carolina. Born on June 26, 1938, in Gaston County, Jack lived a life marked by hard work and devotion to his craft, as well as to his family.

For more than five decades, Jack owned and operated Ideal Upholstery in Dallas, a venture he was immensely proud of since its establishment in 1964. His early experiences included working at Long Creek Fish Fry at the tender age of 15, where he developed a lifelong love for fish. He also spent time at Stuart and Long before embarking on his own business journey, which showcased his commitment and entrepreneurial spirit.

Jack had a personality marked by quiet strength and an unwavering dedication to his work. He enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, especially spending time with friends gathered in the kitchen, where many cherished memories were born. He found joy in the company of his beloved brother, Allen Huggins, with whom he shared countless moments that enriched his life.

In addition to his professional pursuits, Jack was an avid supporter of the NC Tarheels, showcasing his passion for sports. He took great pride in his family, notably his devoted son, Brad A. Huggins, and his wonderful granddaughter, Carley Huggins, who brought him immense joy and fulfillment.

Jack is survived by his son Brad and granddaughter Carley, along with his beloved brother Allen. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A visitation to honor and remember Jack will be held on March 20, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home and Cremation, located at 2916 Union Road, Gastonia, NC.

He will be buried at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Cemetery with his grandmother.

Jack Huggins will be remembered for his quiet demeanor, strong work ethic, and deep love for his family, leaving behind a legacy that will forever be cherished by those who knew him.
