Gastonia – George Poole, 66 of 1939 Wexford Court, Gastonia went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ November 28, 2013 at his residence.
He was a native of Gaston County, born January 14, 1947 to the late Frank and Rushie Burchfield Poole.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Bonnie McCarns, and brothers Don Guffie and Glen Guffie
George was a member of Yorkwood Church of God, and had retired from AMP with over 13 years of service.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Ritta Mason Poole;
his children Amy Poole Pruitt of Gastonia; Lauren Ashley Orren and husband Jonathan of Gastonia; Aaron Mason Poole of Gastonia; grandchildren, Brandy Pruitt, Dylan and Dakota Harrison, Madison and Kristopher Orren; sisters Wayburn Gilbert and husband Charlie, Clara Hayes and husband Raymond, Frankie Woods, Rita Quinn, Netti Poole and Barbara Poole; brothers Dean Guffie and wife Janice, Doug Poole and wife Sharon, Terry Poole and wife Carolyn; Many nieces and nephews.
Celebration of Life service will be 3:30pm Sunday, December 1 at Yorkwood Church of God with Reverend Joel Shirley and Reverend Bobby Smith officiating.
The family will receive friends from 2:30 until 3:30pm prior to the service.
Interment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park, War Memorial 1 Section with Releasing of the Doves
Pallbearers will be Jerry Glen Dellinger, Brian Mason, Terry Poole, James Dellinger, Doug Poole
