Belmont-George Lewis Plyler, 77 of Belmont passed away April 23, 2013 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center.
He was a native of Union County, born August 8, 1935 to the late Charlie Milburn and Eva Nash Plyler. He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife Vivian Ratchford Plyler.
George retired from Frederick Gumm Chemical Company after many years of service. He was a member of South Point Baptist Church.
George enjoyed playing golf, reading and camping, and most of all spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife of 24 years, Yvonne Fordham Plyler;
son Jeff Plyler and wife Lori of Atlanta, GA;
daughters Melinda Smith and husband John of West Union, SC; Rhonda Freeman and husband Robert of Concord, NC;
Angie Howard of Winter Haven, FL;
grandchildren Kelly Redding, Wesley Plyler, Jessica Plyler, Rachel Freeman, Rebecca Freeman and Robbie Freeman; and a sister, Mitchell Hilton and husband Jim of Lake Wylie, SC
Graveside services will be 11:00am Thursday, April 25, 2013 at Gaston Memorial Park with Dr. James Hilton officiating.
