1942-2018
Gastonia – Gaynell "Doodie" Miller Spicer, 75 passed away peacefully on May 5, 2018.
She was born in Gaston County on November 28, 1942 to the late Garland and Ella Cody Miller.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Lawrence Spicer; her brothers Lewis Miller, Gene Miller and sister, Katherine Miller.
She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend who will be greatly missed!
Gaynell loved to read and was a good friend to all. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her grand babies. She was a charter member of Crowder's Mountain Baptist Church. She retired from T and W Machine Shop in Clover after many years.
Left to cherish her memories includes her sons, Mark and wife Sandy Spicer, and Phillip Spicer all of Gastonia; her grandchildren, Kaleb, Kody and Keagan Spicer
The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. Thursday prior to the Celebration of Life Service at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, May 10th at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home with Reverend Clint Spicer officiating.
Interment will follow at Westview Gardens with the releasing of the doves
Pallbearers will be Kaleb Spicer, Michael Arnold, Mark Pruitt, Jeff Cook, Greg Miller, Chip Edwards, Kody Spicer, Keagan Spicer, Harold Dill and Jerry Freedell
