Mt. Holly- Franklin Ray Samples, 73 of 24 Wendy Hill Circle passed away Saturday February 1, 2014 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center.
He was a native of Gaston County, born January 28, 1941 to the late Glenn Dayton and Abbie Womble Samples. Ray was a U.S. Army veteran and had retired from textiles.
He is survived by wife Lorene Halk Samples; his daughter Teresa Neal and husband Tony; a brother Derris Samples; sisters Barbara Little, Kay Samples
Nieces and Nephews, Donna Fowler and husband Sidney, Robin Eller and husband Jimmy, Steven Little and wife Journee; special niece and nephew Lisa and Brian Samples; grand dog Dabber
The family will receive friends from 10:00AM until 11:00Am prior to the service
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, February 3, 2014 at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home with Reverend Jerry Pennington
Interment will be at Gaston Memorial Park with Military honors by the Gaston County Honor Guard
Pallbearers will be Brian and Josh Samples, Joe Neal, Jr.
