Frankie McGinnis Hedrick

Dallas- Frankie McGinnis Hedrick, 91, passed away peacefully on October 6, 2024 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center with her family by her side. 

She was born in Lincoln County, on March 4, 1933 to the late William Flay McGinnis and Myrtle Bryte Carpenter McGinnis. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 56 years, Horace Huston Hedrick; sisters, Kathleen, Aggie, Jeanette, Anne and Margaret Ann; and her brothers, Howard, Claude, Richard and Ralph.

Frankie and her husband Horace were owners of Horace’s Radiator and Auto AC for many years where she was office secretary. It is currently operated by their children.

Frankie was an amazing mother and grandmother who loved to spend time with her family and brought so much joy to their lives. She leaves many happy memories to be cherished by all who knew and loved her. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Frankie was a member of Salem Baptist Church. She enjoyed sending cards to family and friends, loved decorating for the holidays, and baking pecan pies for everyone. 

She is survived by her daughters, Debbie Head (Grady), Sandra Fortner (DeJuan); her son, Tony Hedrick (Becky); her grandchildren, Dwayne Johnson (Maria), DaKota Fortner, and Trent Hedrick; 2 great grandchildren, Dylan and Emilie Johnson and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews 

 Family and friends are invited to gather to remember Frankie on Thursday, October 10, 2024 from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Salem Baptist Church. A Celebration of Life service will be Friday, October 11th at 10:00 am at Salem Baptist Church with Pastor Shea Houser and Pastor Fain Farmer officiating. 

Interment will follow at Hardin Community Church Cemetery. 

Pallbearers will be John Stainback, Tony Hedrick, Trent Hedrick, Dwayne Johnson, Dylan Johnson, and DaKota Fortner.

 In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Salem Baptist Church, 1982 Salem Church Road, Lincolnton, NC 28092.
