Bessemer City – Frances Totherow Rimmer, 86 went to be with her Lord and Savior September 5, 2017 at her residence with her loving family by her side.
She was born in Cherokee County, NC on November 29, 1930 to the late George Glen Totherow and Hester Elizabeth Trantham Totherow. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Ruth Mullinax.
She was a faithful Christian and member of Change of the Heart Baptist, where she enjoyed singing. She enjoyed working in the garden and planting flowers. She was owner & operator of New Way Upholstery. Frances was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed!
Left to cherish her memories includes her loving husband of 46 years, Jimmy Clinton Rimmer; her son Gerald Wilson and wife Sandra;
grandchildren, Kellie Borders and husband John, Jeremy Wilson; great grandchildren Morgan, Josh and Cameron; brother R.L. Totherow;
nephews and niece, Austin, Becky, George, Ricky and wife Toni; brothers and sisters in law, Ricky and Dianne Rimmer, Tommy and Vicky Rimmer, Virgil and Donna Sutton, Tommy and Sharon McElwaine.
The family extends heartfelt appreciation to the staff of Gaston Hospice for their kind and compassionate care to Frances and family.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 1:00 p.m. Saturday prior to the Celebration of Life Service at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, September 9th at New Life Baptist Church, 614 South 11th Street, Bessemer City, NC with Reverend Gene Ware officiating.
