Atlantic Beach ' Floyd Darrell Phillips, 75 passed away peacefully October 5 2012 at Forsythe Medical Center in Winston-Salem.
He was a native of Gaston County, born November 22, 1936 to the late Hayden M. and Beulah Hill Phillips.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Donald T Phillips and his wife Faye C. Phillips, a nephew Charles Stroupe Phillips,
Floyd was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He was a long time residence of Atlantic Beach, NC, and he enjoyed life at the beach.
Survivors include his brothers, Jerry Phillips and wife Kazuko of Lompoc, CA; Jack Phillips and wife Elizabeth of Clemmons, NC. Nieces Barbara Auten and husband Danny, Becky Gulledge and husband Curt and Tracey Peake and husband Jeff,Sharon Simmons and husband Curtis, nephew Donnie Phillips and several great nieces and nephews.
Graveside service will be 11:00 am, Monday, October 8, 2012 at Gaston Memorial Park, Dogwood I section with Pastor Dale Lawing officiating.
