Faye Jenkins Gulliford, 90, passed away on March 27, 2017, at Terrace Ridge Assisted Living.

She was a native of Gaston County, North Carolina, daughter of the late Laban B. and Blanche Pressley Jenkins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 68 years, Billy Cook Gulliford and daughter Janet Faye Saunders; brothers Laban Neal Jenkins, Roy Jenkins, Billy Jenkins, Eddie Jenkins and Gene Jenkins. Two sisters Frances Marr and Nell Wilson.

She is survived by her daughter, Maureen Gulliford Fisher and her husband James David Fisher of Vernon Hill, Virginia, sister-in-law Rubynell Jenkins of Gastonia. Granddaughters Shawn Wilson of Charlotte, North Carolina and Tracy Fisher Scoggins and her husband Barrett Scoggins of Fredericksburg, Virginia. Great grandchildren, R.D. and Trenton Scoggins; Jordan and Sydney Wilson; great-great-granddaughter Lilly Wilson. She leaves behind her special loving little dachshund, Schnitzel, who was her best friend. Nephews, Ronald Jenkins, Roger Jenkins and wife Judy, John Wilson and wife Doris, Jimmy Jenkins and wife Anna and Gary Jenkins. Nieces, Robin Sterling, Cathy Green, and Vicky McIntosh.

Faye was a lifelong member of Sandy Plains Baptist Church. She taught Sunday school; she had been president of the WMU, a member of the Senior Citizens and Red Hatters until her health failed. She loved to work in her flower and vegetable gardens. She was employed by Burlington Industries for over twenty-eight years in Cramerton, North Carolina. In the fifties, she helped organize the first P.T.A. at Cramerton High School and was a Girl Scout Leader.

She really loved everyone and enjoyed taking friends to the beach or doctor appointments. She always wanted to be the one doing things for others.

Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 1, 2017 at Gaston Memorial Park in the Hillcrest II Section with the releasing of doves. Officiating will be Rev. David Keuss and Associate Pastor, Brian Mitchell.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Saturday, April 1, 2017 at Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home.
