Gastonia - Evelyn Rich Moore, 79, passed away at her home on Sunday, October 30, 2016 with her loving family by her side. She was born in Robbinsville, North Carolina and was the daughter of the late Ed Thomas and Maude Taylor Rich.
Mrs. Moore and her late husband, Charlie C. Moore, Jr. was former owners and operators of Moore Express of Charlotte. Mrs. Moore was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and sister.
Mrs. Moore is survived by five daughters, Barbara Hadden of Gastonia, Charlene Dixon and fiancé Terry Bullock of Kannapolis, Diane Matisa and husband Justin, Linda Duncan and fiancé Chip Clark of Clover, Bobbie Dowell and husband Doil of Dallas; three sons, Chuck Moore and fiancé Tina Knight of Gastonia, Ken Moore and wife Betty of Bessemer City, Robby Moore and fiancé Shelly Deason of Waynesboro, Georgia; sister, Valerie Farley of Robbinsville;
17 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 1st at Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 2nd in the Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home Chapel.
Interment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park with the "Releasing of the Doves".
Mrs. Moore was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 50 years, Charlie C. Moore, Jr.; four brothers, Jack Burch, Ray Rich, Quentin Rich, Ralph Rich; sister, Genevieve Rogers; two granddaughters, Jennifer Barnette, Ashley Dowell.
