Evelyn Pursley Houston, age 72, formerly of Lowell, NC died Saturday, August 13, 2016 at her residence in Chickamauga, GA after a long battle with ALS.
Her loving husband and care giver, Larry Houston, was at her side. Evelyn was an amazing person who loved God and everyone unconditionally. She had an enormous heart and a wonderful sense of humor.
Evelyn was born on Nov. 4, 1943 to John Pursley and Elva Pursley Davis. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Bobby Pursley and sister, Jonell Terry.
She is survived by her husband, Larry Houston; Children; Scott (Hope) McAndrew, Jeff Houston and Brooke (Charlie) Roberts; Sisters; Elaine (Laverne) Brown, Brenda Hoffman and Betty (Larry) Rankin and 4 grandchildren.
Visitation with family will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2016 from 1 - 4 PM at Peavine Baptist Church in Rock Springs, GA.
A memorial service will follow the visitation. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations may be made to the ALS Foundation.
