Evelyn L. Dixon

February 4, 1925 — May 17, 2012

Gastonia-Evelyn Long Dixon, 87 of Gastonia passed away peacefully May 17, 2012 at Gaston Memorial Hospital.

She was born in Gaston County, born February 4, 1925 to the late William Henderson and Emma Jarrell Long.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Stacey Campbell Dixon a brother Bill Long and sisters Lula Sellers , Pauline Hardee, Mazel Maners, Betty Hill and Gladys Kincaid
Evelyn retired From Wix Corporation with more than 25 years. She was a member of Love Memorial Baptist Church where she was a member of the Lena Hayes Sunday School Class and enjoyed different activities at church .
She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, and cared and loved all her family dearly.
Survivors include her daughters, Judy Burke, Freida Nichols and husband David
Grandchildren Terry Whitlock Cobb and Stacey Wilkinson and husband Conley; One great granddaughter Ashley Hyleman Weidman and husband Jeff.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:30pm Saturday, May 19 at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home
Interment will be Private at Hollywood Cemetery with the Releasing of the Doves
Memorials may be to Love Memorial Baptist Church, 311 East Walnut Avenue, Gastonia, NC 28054
