Dallas – Eva "Pete" Moffett Coley, 91, passed away on peacefully on June 23, 2017 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Cocke County, Tennessee on December 24, 1925 to the late Thomas Houston and Dovie Williamson Moffett.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Wayne Coley.

Pete was a wonderful mother, grandmother and sister. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her! She never met a stranger. Pete was a member of Plainview Baptist Church. She loved the Lord!! Pete enjoyed working in her vegetable garden and just last year she planted and worked in her garden. She worked in textiles most of her life before retiring from Homelite; she later worked at Winn Dixie.

Survivors include her sons, Tommy Coley and wife Sandy, Calvin Coley and wife Dorothy; grandchildren Greg Coley and wife Beverly, Chad Coley and wife Lisa, Chris Coley; great grandchildren Sarah, Brian, Charlee and Katelyn; step grandchildren Michael and Ashley Duckworth, Ronnie Abernathy and Sherry; step great grandchildren, Riley and Jake Duckworth; brothers, William Moffett and wife Shirley, Henry Moffett and wife Sue, Joe Moffett and wife Billie, Tom Moffett, sister Susie McSwain; along with several nieces and nephews


The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 27th
at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home
Graveside services will be 12:00 Noon, Wednesday, June 28th at Gaston Memorial Park with Reverend Junior Morris officiating.

Pallbearers will be Greg Coley, Chad Coley, Chris Coley, Bryan Coley, Mike Moffett and Scott Brown.
In lieu flowers, memorials may be made to Plainview Baptist Church, 3640 Dallas High Shoals Hwy., Dallas, NC 28034
