Gastonia – Eunice Ruth "Doris" Smith, 84, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on January 6, 2022, at the Brian Center.
She was born in Gaston County on June 30, 1937, to the late Dock Register Smith and Ada Adams Smith. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brothers, James Monroe Smith and Robert Lee Smith.
Doris was a member of the South Gaston Church of God. She was an avid Bible reader; she often started the year by reading the entire book each year. She also enjoyed listening to the Gathers' Gospel Music. She loved working on crossword puzzles, often completing the puzzle book in a week. She was a loving kind and beautiful daughter, sister, aunt, and friend to many.
Survivors include her sister, Bertha Smith, and a brother Glenn Smith; special niece, Krystal Bolch, and numerous other wonderful nieces and nephews.
Visitation for family and friends will be 12:30 -1:30 p.m., Wednesday, January 12th at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home
A Celebration of Life graveside service will be 2:00 p. m, Wednesday, January 12, 2022
