Elaine Salotti McQuage

Teresa Elaine Salotti McQuage, 74, passed away peacefully on September 27, 2024 at Novant Presbyterian Hospital, Charlotte, NC.  

She was born in Richmond County, North Carolina to the late Foster Joseph Salotti and Mary Elizabeth “Pat” Upchurch Salotti. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sisters-in-law, Ima Salotti and brothers-in-law, Karen and Gary Queen, Bill McQuage, and Max McElhaney. 

Elaine will be remembered as a kind and sweet woman who always brought a smile to all who had the pleasure of meeting and knowing her. Her memory will be cherished by her many friends and family. She was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church, where she enjoyed spending time with her church family. She enjoyed reading, and  taking care of people. Elaine worked in Dentistry for over 50 years, a lot of those years were with Dr. Lowery.  

She is survived by her children, James McQuage and wife Venessa, Phyllis Ann McQuage, and Susan McQuage; grandchildren, Bryson Froneberger, Janai and Jordan McQuage; brother, Joe Salotti, sisters, Donna Sansom and husband Mike, Amy Waller and husband Frank; sister-in-law, Kathy and Danny Cochran, Ricky and Elaine Lindley, numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, and many beloved friends 

The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home.

The life of Elaine McQuage will be remembered at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 3, 2024 at St. Michael’s Catholic  Church, 708 St. Michael's Lane, Gastonia, North Carolina with Father Rossi officiating. Interment will take place following the service at Gaston Memorial Park. 

Pallbearers will be Bryson Froneberger, Robin Jones, Tyrone Pierce, Danny Cochran, Ricky Lindley and Matthew Waller. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Michael’s Catholic Church Parish , 708 St. Michael's Lane, Gastonia, North Carolina 28052.
