Dallas– Edwynne "Eddie" Shell Ferguson, 86, passed away peacefully on November 17, 2015 surrounded by her loving family at the Robin Johnson House
She was born in Gaston County on May 18, 1929 to the late Edward Newton and Theresa Detter Shell
Eddie was a very loving and outgoing person. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. She enjoyed an active life following her sons in sports from Pop Warner football through high school athletics. Eddie retired from Homelite Corporation after 31 years of dedicated service. In her later years, Eddie's life was her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Even in her last hours, she would show a wide smile and her eyes would light up at the mention of their names. She will be greatly missed by many!
Survivors include her husband of 68 years, James Luther Ferguson; sons, James Edward Ferguson and wife Susan Carter Ferguson; John Daniel Ferguson and wife Ruth Bell Ferguson; Joseph Earl Ferguson and wife Mary Carriker Ferguson;
grandchildren, Michele Ferguson Falls and husband Jeremy Daniel Falls; Tisha Ferguson Langill, John Daniel Ferguson II and wife Wendy Baucom Ferguson, Lindsay Ferguson Hall and husband Christopher Scott Hall and Christine Rebecca Ferguson
great grandchildren, Lauren Michele Falls, Madison Elizabeth Falls, Taylor Hughes Gary, Abby Grace Ferguson, Kate Maris Ferguson, Sophie Jane Hall, Harper Shell Hall and Bristol Lee Hall; and numerous nieces and nephews
A Celebration of life service will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, November 21st at First United Methodist Church, 301 West Main Street, Dallas, North Carolina with Reverend Caroll Flack officiating
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. prior to the service
Interment will follow at Long Creek Cemetery with the releasing of the doves
Pallbearers will be George Wilson, John Edison, Roy Spivey, Barry Rhyne, Don Britton and Dennis Jones
The family expresses heartfelt appreciation to the wonderful nurses and staff at the Robin Johnson House in Dallas
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Abby Grace Foundation, Post Office Box 1023, Dallas, NC 28034
