Edna F. Phillips

Gastonia-Edna Faye Phillips,76, of Gastonia went home to be with the Lord June 26, 2010 surrounded by her family at her daughter home after fighting a long courageous battle of cancer .
She was a native of Silvia, NC , born September 14, 1933 to the
late Jake A. and Otelia Frizzell Cogdill
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Donald T. Phillips, Sr., her son, Charles Edward Stroupe and a brother, Alex Cogdill
Faye was a member of East Baptist Church. She worked in the Textiles until she opened her own business- Angel Daycare. She retired to take care of family loveones and her husband Donald until his death March 8, 2008.
The most important thing in her life was family and friends. She always put them first, when she had the time she loved to garden and plant flowers. She also loved to watch QVC and shop.
Survivors include her two daughters: Barbara Auten and husband Danny Becky Gulledge and husband Curt; her son: Donald T Phillips, Jr.,
Daughter-in-law: Charlotte Stroupe
Four Grandchildren and Eight Great grandchildren
Two Brothers: Bobby Codgill, James Codgill and wife Brenda;
Special Friend, Pat Mathis and husband Jerry
Celebration of Life service will be 2:00 pm, Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ron Watts officiating
The family will receive friends 1:00 until 2:00pm prior to the service
Interment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park with the
Releasing of the Doves
