Earl Conner
Gastonia- William Earl Conner, 94, passed away December 15, 2009 at Carolina Care Cherryville, North Carolina.
He was a native of Gaston County, NC, son of the late William A. Conner and Estelle Thomas Conner.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and wife of 55 years Evelyn Quinn Conner. Son Earl Wade Conner, Brothers James Robert Conner, Lewis Richard Conner. Sisters: Isabelle Conner Miller, Lula Conner Maiers, Evelyn Conner Beam
Earl served in the U. S. Marines in World War II serving in the Pacific Theatre. He was a member of Bradley Memorial United Methodist Church. Earl retired from Precision Machine Products, and also worked many years as a bus driver for the City of Gastonia Transit
Survivors include his sisters: Elise C. McCarthy of Cherryville,
Betty C. Lowery and Frances C. McLean of Jacksonville FL.
Two grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews
Family will receive friends 1 hour prior to service at Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home.
Funeral Service will be held 2:00 pm Friday, December 18, at Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dick Whitener officiating.
Interment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park, Fountain 2-A section.
