1929-2015

Gastonia – Douglas Max Jamison, Sr., 86, went Home to be with the Lord on December 3, 2015 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center.

He was born in Greenville, South Carolina on September 8, 1929 to the late George and Ethel Jamison

Mr. Jamison was a member of the First Baptist Church Gastonia. He had worked at Akers Motor Lines for many years before working and retiring from Gaston Rentals. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who loved spending time with his family. He cherished their family vacations to Tennessee. He enjoyed softball and coached the men's softball team for many years and loved to bowl. Mr. Jamison was a past president of the Optimist Club.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Lewis Jamison.

Left to cherish his memories includes his wife of 65 years, Marilyn Suttle Jamison, his children Debbi Jamison Frye and husband Robert Wade Frye; Douglas Max Jamison, Jr and wife Mary Watt Jamison; David Suttle Jamison and wife Debbie Jamison; Dale Jamison Lanier and husband Michael Ross Lanier;
Grandchildren; Dustin Jamison Frye and wife Jennifer Hilton Frye; Robert Jason Frye and wife Whitney James Frye; Bryant Craig Jamison and wife Natalie Nicole Jamison; Lexie Blaine Kelly and husband Kane Allen Kelly; Gable Max Jamison and wife Anna Elisabeth Jamison; David Suttle Jamison, Jr.; Alexander McAllister Jamison; David Robert Grubbs; Sarah Angela James and husband Anthony Romano James; Brandon Michael Lanier and wife Kara Jane Lanier; Matthew Christian Lanier; great grandchildren; Jamison Lake Frye, Keeli Quinn Frye, Lennox Jace Frye, Tucker Lane Jamison, Blakely Jewell Jamison, Asher Caldwell Jamison and Corbin Brandon Lanier

A Graveside service will be held at 1:30 pm Sunday, December 6th at Gaston Memorial Park, Masonic 1D section with Pastor Tom Bayes, Sr. officiating

The family will meet at 12:30 until 1:15 pm prior to the service at Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home

Pallbearers will be his grandchildren
