Gastonia-Dorothy"Dot" Meadows, 83 of Gastonia passed away peacefully on December 28, 2013 at Meadowood Nursing Center..
She was a native of York County, SC, born August 23, 1930 to the late Joseph Ernest and Winnie Ingram Newman. Dot loved watching racing; she was especially a big Jeff Gordon fan.
She loved going to yard sales and enjoyed the home shopping network.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Floyd Meadows, a sister Helen Baker
Survivors include her sons Joseph Randall Newman and Michael Morrison Meadows; grandchildren Amy Riley and husband Nick, Jessica Wallace and husband Eric; great grandchildren Ashland, Aaron and Jacob;
sister, Mary Ann Harvell and husband Boyce; brothers Harvey "Butch" Newman, Lewis and DoraMae Newman, Charles and Anna Barbara Newman
The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 prior to the service
Celebration of Life service will be 11:00 AM, Thursday at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home
with David Harvell officiating.
Burial will follow at Armstrong Cemetery with The Releasing of the Doves
