Doris McGinnis Webb, beloved by many, passed away at her residence, leaving a legacy of love and cherished memories. Doris led a fulfilling life, encompassed by various roles and activities that shaped her into the remarkable individual she was. Born in Gaston County, North Carolina on April 29, 1940, Doris was a beacon of positivity throughout her life. She forged a successful career path working at Parnell Insurance Agency, serving as an Office Manager at Roses, and dedicating her time to the realm of Real Estate.
Those who knew Doris will forever hold dear memories of her beaming smile and the boundless love she shared with everyone she encountered. Her warm and compassionate nature touched the lives of many.
Doris found immense joy in sewing for her family, mostly working outdoors and especially working in the flower gardens Moreover, she and her husband, Gerald Clayton Webb, actively participated in the Nashville Fan Fare Country Western Music scene. Their shared passion for music led them to create lasting memories with famous country stars. Their cherished retreat at Sunset Harbor Beach became a sanctuary where they relished family trips and created everlasting bonds.
In times both joyous and challenging, Doris remained resilient and dedicated to her proudest accomplishments – her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her love knew no bounds when it came to animals, particularly dogs and her many cats whom she adored unequivocally.
Surrounded by her loving family till the very end, Doris McGinnis Webb peacefully passed away on February 26, 2024.
She is reunited in eternal peace with her parents Murray Delaney McGinnis and Mildred Aldridge McGinnis; her husband of 45 years, Gerald Clayton Webb; siblings Roy Everette McGinnis, Sam McGinnis, Rebecca "Becky" McGinnis, Mike McGinnis, Judy M. Thornburg;
Doris leaves behind a profound impact on all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be deeply missed by her wonderful daughters Sharon Johnson Cook (Michael), Laurie Webb Carpenter, Toni Lynn Webb (Cia), and Melanie Webb Freeman; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter, Vanessa; brother Jim McGinnis (Brenda); sister Linda Monk (Buddy); special friend of over 20 years Larry Gaddis; numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on March 2, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM followed by a Celebration of Life at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home Chapel in Gastonia with Pastor Dale Lawing officiating. The interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery in Belmont. Pallbearers will be Clayton Carpenter, Tyler Johnson, Jacob Long, Brendan Long, Dale Tremain, and Scott Long.
Doris' everlasting spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing such a remarkable soul. May she rest in peace knowing that she was loved beyond measure.
