Dallas- Doris McCombs Henson, 81 of 5906 Britt Lane, Dallas went home to be with the Lord February 15, 2013 at CMC-Mercy surrounded by her family.
She was a native of Gaston County, NC born March 24, 1931 to the late Jesse Arthur and Arzener Kidd Norman.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Jerald Harold McCombs and a son Harold Dean McCombs, a brother Lonnie Jackson Norman and a sister Juanita Sisk
Doris was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, and was a member of Walnut Grove Baptist Church. She had worked at Sherman Textiles and later Gaston County Schools before retiring.
Survivors include her husband Lee O. Henson, a son Jerald Harold "Joey" McCombs, Jr. and wife Karen of Dallas;
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00pm on Sunday at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home and other times at her son Joey and Karen McCombs, 5906 Britt Lane, Dallas
Celebration of Life service will be 1:00pm on Monday at Walnut Grove Baptist Church with Revs. Fred High, Steve Weaver and Junior Morris officiating.
Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Belmont
