Gastonia – Doris Hyde Godwin, 79, passed away on November 10, 2014 surrounded by her loving family at CaroMont Regional Medical Center.
She was born on April 11, 1935 in Robbinsville, NC to the late Robert Virgil and Mary Hooper Hyde.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Wardell Godwin; son, Charles Norris and brothers; Phillip Hyde and Reid Hyde.
Survivors include her sons, Mark Godwin and Michael Godwin; daughter, Sherrie Heavener and husband Joe; grandchildren, Len Norris and wife Barbara, Summer Gaddis, and husband Josh, Joseph Heavener and Lilly Godwin; 6 great grandchildren; sisters, Hazel Hayes, Dorothy Collins and Regina Willis.
Graveside Service will be Thursday, November 13th at 11 am at Hillcrest Gardens, Mt. Holly, NC with Reverend Mike Criswell officiating.
