1930-2017
Belmont – Dora "Tiny" Edwards Buchanan, 86, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2017 at her residence
She was born in Newport, Tennessee to the late Stokley and Fannie Lewis Edwards.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Clyde Franklin "Buck" Buchanan; brothers, Jim, Marlen and Wayne Edwards, sisters Aileen Gray, Anna Carpenter and Jean Grant.
Tiny was a loving kind-hearted woman who will be missed by her family and so many others that loved her! She was a longtime member of Lakeview Baptist Church and retired from Pharr Yarns. She started working for Pharr Yarns when she was 16 years old and worked over 58 years of service; and she was the editor of Space Dye News for the Pharr Crier. Tiny enjoyed baking cakes and sharing them with everyone. She enjoyed taking trips to the mountains, going to church, working in her garden and canning.
Left to cherish her memories includes her son Brian Franklin Buchanan (Janet); her daughters, Mary Helms (Eddie), Janice Johnson (Ken), Vickie Haun (Mike) and Debra Lewis; grandchildren, Chad Helms, Lisa Allen, Jill Johnson, Ashley Simmons, Melissa Hux, Nathan and Carter Buchanan; great grandchildren Kayla, Christian, Sarah and Brody Helms, Corbin and Bailey Allen, Walker, Mason and Aiden Simmons, Breanna, Braylan and Landon Hux.
Visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:30 am. – 11:30 am, Tuesday, January 24th at Lakeview Baptist Church.
Celebration of Life will be held at 11:30am Tuesday, January 24th at Lakeview Baptist Church with Dr. Danny Penny officiating.
Interment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park, War Memorial I section with the releasing of the doves
Pallbearers will be Brian Allen, John Simmonds, Walker Simmons, Mason Simmons, Carter Buchanan and Nathan Buchanan
