Donald L. Roberts

January 20, 1943 — September 27, 2011

Dallas- Donald Lee 'Fireball' Roberts, Sr., 68, 3337 Cloninger Road went home to be with the Lord Tuesday September 27, 2011 at his residence.
He was a native of McAdenville, NC, Son of the late Bertha and Jasper Roberts, and Ruby Auten Featherstone.
He was a retired pipe fitter.
Donald was a member of Hardin Community Baptist Church. He was a wonderful Husband, Father, Grandfather and friend.
His hobbies included spending time with his family, racing and pier fishing. He enjoyed going to auctions and scrapping metal. Every summer he took his kids and grandkids to Ocean Lakes in Myrtle Beach. He liked being outdoors and working in his garden with the help of his grandkids. He loved watching old western movies. He also enjoyed going to Wills and sitting on the bench talking with all of his friends every morning.
He was a wonderful man who will be truly missed by all who knew him.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents, a Son, David Glenn Roberts, Brother, Albert Walker, Mother and Father-in law Margaret Paxton Nolen and James Lloyd Nolen and Brother-in Law Butch Nolen.
He was survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Brenda Nolen Roberts of the home, Son and Daughter-in-law Donnie and Kristie Roberts of Dallas, Daughters and Son-in-laws Melissa and James Cranford of Dallas, Mandy and Husband Arnold Propst of Dallas, Grandchildren, Cameron Roberts of the home, Logan Harlan, Sierra Cygan and Husband Randy, Shelby and Payton Propst, Maddy, Ashley and Megan Cranford. Great Grand-daughter, Emma Roberts, Brothers Robert McCarn of Murrells Inlet, SC, Larry McCarn of Belmont, Terry McCarn of Lowell, Sister Janet Threatt of Wallace, NC.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 1:00 pm, Saturday at Hardin Community Baptist Church with the Rev. Fain Farmer and Rev. John Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Hardin cemetery.
The Family will receive friends Friday night at the Church from 6-8 pm.
