Clover, SC – Donald Richard Quinn, 80, passed away suddenly on January 16, 2019 at his residence.
He was born August 4, 1938 in Gaston County to the late Robert Marion Quinn and Etta Mae Biggers Quinn.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Robert "Bobby" Neil Quinn and Clyde Thomas Quinn.
Donald was a veteran of the U.S. Army and Army National Guard. He enjoyed fishing and riding in his boat and visiting friends. He retired from textiles, and also enjoyed working picking up auto parts; sometimes starting out as early as 4:00 a.m.
and working until late that day.
Left to cherish his memories is his children, Scott Quinn and wife Debi,
Renee` Quinn Lanier and husband Mark, Marie Quinn Giles and husband Johnny; his grandchildren, Rachelle and Brittney Giles, Christopher and Megan Lanier; great grandchildren, Jeremy and Jane Carrasco; brothers, Lewis Quinn, Kenny Quinn and wife Pam, Howard Quinn and wife Margaret, Ronnie Quinn and wife Rhonda; sisters, Margie Quinn Costner and husband Andrew, Betty Quinn Allen.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 21st at Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home with a Celebration of Life Service to follow at 11:00 a.m. Monday in the Chapel with Reverend Mike Criswell officiating.
Interment will follow at Armstrong Cemetery with Military Honors by the Gaston County Honor Guard.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the donor's choice.
