1940-2015
Gastonia, - Donald Lee Frey, 75, joined our heavenly Father peacefully on June 15, 2015 surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Fulton County, Ohio on June 9, 1940 to the late Vernon and Marie Crossgrove Frey.
Don was a member of Parkwood Baptist Church and a very active member of the "Worker's for Jesus, Giving Back to the Community in the name of the Lord." He was an avid biker and had such a strong passion for life. He loved spending time with family and friends. Don had worked as a cattle broker for 42 years serving the Midwest and southeast markets. His favorite saying, "to blessed to be depressed" will continue to be a cherished memory as loved ones remember him.
Survivors include his loving wife of 55 years, Connie Nofziger Frey; sons, Gordon Lee Frey (Patricia Jenkins) of Knoxville, TN; Greg Frey (Keetha) of Gastonia; daughter, Lori Frey Broyles (Curtis) of Louisville, KY
Grandchildren; 5 grandsons and 2 step granddaughters;
5 Great Grandchildren
brother, Duane Frey; and sisters, Elaine Frey, Diane Bodicker and Joyce Troyer
Celebration of Life Service will be Thursday, June 18th at 1 p.m., at Parkwood Baptist Church, 1729 E. Garrison Blvd, Gastonia with Pastors Jeff Long and David Belle Isle officiating.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
Family and friends will gather for cake and coffee following the service
Honorary pallbearers will be Pat Toomey, Al Turner, Dennis Denton and Dale Robinson
Interment will be private
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Parkwood Baptist Church c/o "Helping Hands", 1827 Dixon Road, Gastonia, NC 28054
