Dollie Shives Jenkins

Gastonia- Dollie Shives Jenkins, 95 went to be with her Lord and Savior November 5, 2022 at Stanley Total Living with her family by her side.

 She was born in Gaston County on April 4, 1927 to the late Jesse Mason Shives and Parvell Abernathy Shives. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Charlie Jason Jenkins, who passed on March 26, 2015, a son Perry Clayton Jenkins, her siblings, Jack, Robert, Marvin “Slick” Shives, Faye Branch.

She was the last charter member of Community Baptist Church where she sang in the choir for many years; she loved watching the braves play ball and fishing especially at the Carolina beach.  Dollie was a devoted wife, mother and MawMaw.

Survivors include her son Gene Jenkins and wife Ann Hayes Jenkins; granddaughter, Gina Jenkins Roberts and husband John; great grandchildren Charles Clayton “Clay” Jenkins, Cydney Ann Roberts, Dallas Max Roberts; numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 11:30 pm until 12:30 pm on Tuesday, November 8 at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home, prior to the Celebration of Life Graveside service will be at 1:00 pm at Hollywood Cemetery with the releasing of the doves with Reverend Matt Seagle officiating

Pallbearers will be John Roberts, Clay Jenkins, Josh Roberts, Jim Bumgardner
