Dallas – Richard Mason "Dick" Williamson, 80, joined our heavenly Father peacefully on October 20, 2016 at Hospice of Cleveland County.
He was born in Gaston County on May 23, 1936 to the late Alonzo and Helen Hammett Williamson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Steve and Jim Williamson and step-son Melvin Bolton.
He was a man of strong faith who loved the Lord, his wife and family. Dick was a veteran of the US Air Force and loved his country. He was a member of Alexis Baptist Church. Dick enjoyed cooking for his family, fishing and anything to do with nature. He will be forever missed by his family and many friends.
Survivors include his loving wife of 38 years, Sibyl Yelton Williamson; daughter, Traci Williamson of Cramerton; his brother, Roger Neil Williamson and wife Carolyn; step children, Debbie Banks and Sheila Hice of Belmont; and Donna Casey of Englewood, FL;
9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren
The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. prior to the service.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Monday, October 24th at 3:00 p.m., Alexis Baptist Church, 118 Alexis Church Road, Alexis, NC with Reverend Dr. Sandy Marks officiating with and military honors by the Gaston County Honor Guard.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Cleveland County, 951 Wendover Heights Drive, Shelby, NC 28120
