Deeree Watson

Shelby – Deeree Watson, 67, passed away January 30, 2023 with her loving family by her side.

She was born in Gaston County on March 28, 1955 to the late Joseph Daniel Watson, Sr. and Thelma Galloway Watson.

Deeree was an awesome caregiver who loved her family more than anything else and was everyone’s nana. She was very much the matriarch of the family who kept everyone in line. Deeree always kept herself together, well dressed, and make-up done. She enjoyed singing and dancing. Deeree leaves many happy memories that will be cherished by her family and all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Wallace; brothers Joe Watson (Linda) and Jeff Watson; grandchildren, Kaylor Huss, Adrian Huss, Meghan Mersinger, and Amber Jines; and great-grandchildren, the light of her life, Ariyah Hope, and Isaiah Hope; cousins, Tracy Watson, Rosanne Craft, Marca Keener (Ernie); and her special friend, Danny Hallbrook.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. on Friday February 3, 2023 at Bessemer City Community Church 616 Athenia Place, Bessemer City, North Carolina. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the church with Pastor Mike Criswell officiating. Burial will follow at Westview Gardens.
