David Truman Wells, a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on July 20th, 2024 at Levine & Dickson Hospice in Charlotte, North Carolina. He was surrounded by his family as he peacefully departed this world.
Born on August 8, 1945, in Gaston County, North Carolina, David a fulfilling life marked by his dedication to family and his numerous interests and hobbies. He was a graduate of Gaston Tech and went on to serve his country as a proud veteran of the U.S. Army. David was known for his passion for restoring jukeboxes, steam engines, and tinkering with electronics. However, most of all, he cherished the time spent with his grandchildren. His love for playing golf was evident to all who knew him. His proudest accomplishments revolved around the moments shared with his family. David leaves behind a legacy of love and memories that will be forever treasured by those whose lives he touched.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, June Shehane Wells; his sons Eric Wells (Kristen) and Nathan Wells (Ripa); as well as his grandchildren Colin, Zander, Mason, Lena, and Jackson. Additionally, he is survived by his sisters Joyce Hudson and Virginia Davis, along with brothers Lacey, Bob, Paul, and Larry Wells.
David was preceded in death by his parents Campbell and Helen Skidmore Wells and his siblings Jimmy, Leroy, Acie and Donald Wells, Alma Stone, and Annie Lattimore.
A Graveside Service to honor David's life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, July 26th at Evergreen "A Quiet Place" Cemetery, 1462 Armstrong Ford Road, Belmont, North Carolina with Pastor Chris Howell officiating with also military honors by the Gaston County Honor Guard.
In remembrance of David's life filled with love for his family and dedication to his passions. He will be deeply missed, but forever remembered in our hearts.
