David Ray Truett

David Ray Truett, Jr., 47, passed away peacefully at his residence on October 26, 2022 surrounded by his loving family.

David was born in Gaston County on May 12, 1975 to Cheri Manning and the late David Raymond Truett. In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Georgie Lancaster and J.R. Truett; and his maternal grandparents, Harold Thron and Pearlie Farmer.

David enjoyed playing basketball, kayaking, and most of all going fishing. He loved spending time with his nieces, nephews, and grandson. He leaves many happy memories his family will cherish forever.

Those left to cherish Davids’s memory is his wife of 11 years, Christina Truett; sons, David R. Roberts, Michael Crawford, and Tyler Crawford; daughter, Megan Roberts; brother, Kevin Truett (Julie); sisters, Staci Cobb (Nick), Tara Wilcox, Alexandra Santinelli; grandson, Milo Crawford; nieces, Lauren, Ella, and Grace; nephews, Kameron and Grayson.; and his beloved fur-baby, Jill.

The family will receive friends at Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home on Tuesday November 8, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. with a Memorial Service to follow at 2:00 p.m. in the Withers and Whisenant Chapel with Pastor Matt Vanderbilt officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Hospice of Cleveland County.
