David "Tim" Timothy Messick

Gastonia – David Timothy "Tim" Messick, Sr., 62 of Gastonia passed away peacefully July 11, 2013 surrounded by his loving family at the Robin Johnson House. He was a native of Gaston County, born December 17, 1950 to the late Peggy Juanita Messick Williams.
He was preceded in death by his mother, his step father Junior Williams, his baby brother Ricky, a grandson Zachary Elliott and sisters Cathy Thiadeault and Judy McFalls and husband Ernie.


Tim had worked at Duke Power in construction for over 15 years, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Survivors include his children David Timothy Messick, Jr of High Shoals, Brandon Messick and wife Ashley, Michelle Messick Sky all of Gastonia, grandchildren Kayli McCrary, Dylan Messick, Elisa Auten, Jacob Sky and Lily Messick; a sister Vickie Barker and husband Roy of Gastonia and the mother of his children Dot Messick of Gastonia

The family will receive friends from 3:00 until 4:00 pm Sunday at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home
Celebration of Life service will be 4:00pm Sunday at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home with Rev. Sonny Miller officiating.
Interment will be private
Pallbearers will be Lino Mantecon, Brian Smith, Ron Cook, Bryan Parker, Roy Lee Barker and Kyle Ferguson
