David Jacobsen
1944-2014
Lowell- John David Jacobsen, 70, of Lowell passed away peacefully on June 27, 2014 at the Robin Johnson House.
David was fondly known by many as Jimmy Jett, he was involved in sales most of his life.
He was born in Greensboro, on February 20, 1944 to the late John Leroy and Elise Beale Jacobsen.
David was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Stanley. He was a U.S. Army veteran, and was also a member of the American Legion. He loved visiting people and sharing his faith. David was a volunteer Chaplain for the Lowell Police Department; and was real involved in the community.
He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Betty Ellington Jacobsen; his children, Gretta (Tom) Hill, Paula Jacobsen, Heather Baughman,
Penny (Chad) Barker, Leigh Simmons (Steve Gordon), and Chris (Raelynn) Pope; Brothers Fred and Alan Jacobsen; Eleven grandchildren
Visitation will be from 10:00 until 11:00 am prior to the service at 11:00 am Wednesday July 2 at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home with Reverend Bill Baulding officiating.
Interment will be at the V.A. Cemetery in Salisbury with Military honors
