Dave Shope
Gastonia ' David Ralph Shope, 56, 1213 Candlewood Dr., passed away May 14, 2011 at Gaston Memorial Hospital.
He was a native of Gaston County, born April 20, 1955 to Theresa Shields Shope and the late Samuel David Shope.
David was employed by Carolinas HealthCare, a member of First Wesleyan Church of Bessemer City, a member of Holland Memorial Masonic Lodge of Gastonia, and former Governor of Moose Lodge of Bessemer City, and a veteran of the US Navy.
David was preceded in death by his father and a brother John Timothy Shope.
Survivors include his wife Wendy Marshall Shope,
a son William Lucas Yow and his fianc' Jessica Stinnett of Gastonia
two daughters, Amanda Marshall, and Lisa Shope of the home
brothers, James Kenneth Shope and his fianc' Donna of Bessemer City, Samuel David Shope, Jr.and wife Brenda, William Paul Shope and wife Linda all of Robbinsville, and James Daniel Shope wife Amanda of Bessemer City, a sister Mary Elizabeth (Libby) Sellers of Robbinsville, grandchildren, MaKenna Lynn Yow and Jacob Lee Powell and a goddaughter Bryleigh Raine Gray.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Tuesday May17, at 7:00pm at First Wesleyan Church of Bessemer City with Pastor Wes Brown and Pastor Matt Mitchell officiating, followed by military honors by the NC National Honor Guard, and the Releasing of the Doves.
Visitation will be 6:00 until 7:00pm Tuesday prior to the service.
