He is preceded in death by his grandparents James Hubert Hunt, William and Johnsie Thornburg
Survivors include his mother and stepfather Patty Hunt Hawkins and Leroy Burgin, Jr.; Two brothers Roger Dale Thornburg, Billy Ray Thornburg and wife Robin all of Gastonia;
Two loving nieces Kayla and Andrea Thornburg and one nephew Waylon Thornburg

Family will receive friends 6-8 Sunday at the funeral home and other times at his brothers 2725 Pruitan Street, Gastonia, NC
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 1:00 pm Monday February 14, 2011 in the Chapel of Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home with Rev. James Hord and Rev. Buck Harper officiating.
Interment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park
