Gastonia – Danny Eugene Kinard, 68 passed away after a hard-fought battle with cancer on April 21, 2021 at Novant Health – Presbyterian Medical Center.
Danny was born on March 30, 1953, to the late James and Marjorie Kinard in Charlotte, NC.
Danny was preceded in death by his father, mother, and sisters, Cindy Davis and Kim Kinard.
He was retired from a successful 44-year career as an engineer and project manager for Duke Energy.
Danny was a caring husband to his wife, Barbara, for 30 years. He was a wonderful father and was loved by all of his friends and neighbors. Danny was passionate about his faith, his family, and helping others.
His memory will be forever cherished by his friends and surviving family, his wife Barbara Kinard; and children/grandchildren David and Katie Spickler, Ross and Caitlin Kinard, Ryan Kinard, Kennedy Spickler, and Ruby Spickler; including siblings Brenda Hoover, Donna McNealy, Jim Kinard, and Bobby Kinard.
A private family funeral will be held on Sunday, April 25, 2021, at Catawba Heights Baptist Church followed by an offsite celebration of life for extended family and friends on Saturday, May 1, 2021.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials are made to Catawba Heights Baptist Church Homeless and Youth programs (theheightsbelmont.org).
