Belmont – Daniel "Dan" Oscar Doster, 59 passed away on September 1st at his residence surrounded by his family.
He was born October 27, 1957 to Oscar Lee Doster and the late Myra Cochran Doster.
Dan was a graduate of Ashbrook High School and attended NC State. He was a veteran of the US Army – Artillery Unit for 13 years. He was the owner and operator of Doster Contracting, Incorporated. Dan was a member of First United Methodist of Stanley. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends; fishing, being on the water and his work.
Survivors include his wife of 19 years, Sheila Green Doster; daughter, Danèlle Marie Doster; grandson, Cash Shane Mueller; stepsons, Jonathan Green, Chris Green; grandchildren, Rylee, Eli, Drew, Noah and Megan Green; his father, Oscar Lee Doster; brothers and sisters, Carol Hannah (David); Lee Doster Ward (Mike); Lucy Poche' (Danny); John Doster (Amy) and James Doster (Millie); mother-in-law, Ethel White; sister-in-laws, Darlene Allred (Phillip); Carolyn Howard (Brad); brother-in-law, Donnie White; several nieces and nephews and good friend, Ernest Hall.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Markus Sanders.
Visitation for family and friends will be Tuesday, September 5th from 1:30 until 3:00 p.m. at Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home with a 3:00 p.m. Memorial Service in the Chapel of Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home with Pastor Noel Sweezy officiating.
Military honors provided by the Gaston County Honor Guard.
