Dana Lee Hanna Gibson

Dana Lee Hanna Gibson, 63, passed away peacefully on March 2, 2025 with her loving family by her side at the Robin Johnson House. 

She was born in Gaston County, on July 29, 1961 to the late James Ralph McCutcheon and Bobbie Cline. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Jonathan Gibson, her brothers, Jonathan Cline, Larry Cline, Robert Cline, sister-in-law, Karen McCutcheon, sister-in-law, Susie Cline, brother-in-law, Buddy Crawford and a nephew, Jeremy Cline.

Dana was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She loved spending time with her family and the ladies at work and making many happy memories that will be cherished by all who knew and loved her. Dana worked in the Gaston County School Cafeteria for over 25 years. She loved trips to the mountains to the Biltmore House, the beach, shopping and reading. She also enjoyed going and seeing musicals, snow and owls. 

 She is survived by her devoted husband of 31 years, Ronnie Gibson; her mother, Sarah McCutcheon; her children, Angel McGinnis (Chris), James Lucas Gibson (Hope), Jenna Gibson and Tyler Crawford; grandchildren, Garet McGinnis (Bellamy), Gauge McGinnis; many adopted children over the years, her siblings, Jason Hanna (Kim), David McCutcheon (Debbie), Eddie McCutcheon, Ralph McCutcheon (Beverly), James Tyler, Kay Deweese (Robert), Liz Crawford, and Laura Merrick (Jeff Jenkins); and her special niece, Mary Sue Barnes; and many wonderful nieces and nephews. 

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., on Wednesday, March 5, 2025 at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home.  

A Celebration of Life service will take place on Thursday, March 6, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel at the funeral home with Reverend Ken Cobb officiating. Burial will follow at Gaston Memorial Park, 1200 South New Hope Road, Gastonia, North Carolina. 

Pallbearers will be, Kevin Crawford, Travis Barnes, Jon-Matthew McCutcheon, Michael McCutcheon, Daylan Hanna and Scott Crawford.
