York, SC – Dale Lynn Mills, 63, passed away on December 28th at his residence.
He was born in Gaston County on September 15, 1956 to the late Horace Calvin and Mittie Levonia Carswell Mills.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Joe Richard Mills and Sherrill Toney Mills and nephew, Joey Mills.
Dale was a member of Love Valley Independent Baptist Church. He loved being outside and going fishing. Dale had worked for The Building Center where he drove a Moffitt Truck delivering lumber for many years. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him!
Mr. Mills is survived by his wife, Joy McSwain Mills; sons, Jose Escamilla and Joshua Mills; daughters, Lacey Lynn Mills (Bradley Crews) and Stacey Marie Nivens (Michael); grandchildren, Maria Escamilla, Christina Escamilla, Samantha Escamilla, Ethan Nivens and Everleigh Nivens; nephew, Greg Mills and great nieces, Savannah and Anna.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 4, 2019 at Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home with a Celebration of Life Service to follow at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Barry Philbeck officiating.
