1931-2015
Gastonia – Clifford William Stamey, Sr. 84, passed away July 23, 2015 at Belaire Health Care Center.
He was born in Burke Co, NC on April 13, 1931 to the late Fred Herbert and Lilly Mae Abbey Stamey.
Besides his parents Clifford is preceded in death by a son Clifford William Stamey, Jr.; five brothers and two sisters.
Clifford was a loving husband and father; and grandfather. He was a veteran of the US Air Force and was a self employed Interior Decorator.
Left to cherish his memories include his wife of 62 years, Aleene Frye Stamey, his children Doug Stamey and wife Tammy of MT Holly; Denece Moore of Kannapolis; brother James Stamey of Charlotte; sisters Kathrine Ballew of Hickory and Marie Parker of Maiden; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren
A Celebration of Life service will be Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at 12 Noon at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Crisco officiating.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 until 12:00 Noon prior to the service
Interment will follow at Forest Lawn West Cemetery in Charlotte, with military honors by the Gaston County Honor Guard.
