Gastonia- Reverend Clarence Randolph McMahan, 87, passed away peacefully on February 28, 2015 surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Gaston County, NC on April 10, 1927 to the late Walter C. and Beuna Sisk McMahan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and wife of 70 years, Louise Killian McMahan who died February 8, 2015.
Reverend McMahan served in the US Navy during World War II. In 1954 he surrendered to preach the gospel. Reverend McMahan has served as a minister to over 19 congregations full time and interim during his 50 year career. He was a long time member of Grace Baptist Church before moving to Trinity Baptist Church in Shelby.
Survivors include his children, Michael K. McMahan and wife Carla, Gregory R. McMahan and wife Cheryle, Clarence R. McMahan Jr., and Charlene M. Frazier and husband Reverend Michael Frazier
Fourteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren
Funeral service will be Tuesday, March 3rd at 2:00 pm at Grace Baptist Church, 2200 Auten Road, Gastonia, NC with Reverend Michael Frazier and Reverend Joseph Hensley officiating
The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2:00 pm prior to the service at the church
Honorary Pallbearers will be Senior Men's Sunday School Class at Grace Baptist Church
Interment will be private at Westview Gardens Cemetery
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Hospice of Cleveland County, 591 Wendover Heights Drive, Shelby, NC 28150 and/or Annie Armstrong Fund.
