Clarence W. Brackins

GASTONIA - Clarence Woodward "Joe" Brackins, 83, went home to be with the Lord on June 3, 2009. <BR><BR>A native of Erwin, Tenn., he was born Nov. 6, 1925, son of the late Fuller and Bertha Adkins Brackins. <BR><BR>He was a member of Sandy Plains Baptist Church and a member of Indian River Chapter 27 Masonic Lodge in Indialantic, Florida, where he received his 50 year pin. <BR><BR>He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Juanita Perry and Velma Williamson, Arnold Moore; brothers, Ward Brackins, and Ernest Brackins. <BR><BR>He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Catherine Rowan Brackins; son, Jeffrey Mark Brackins of Easley, S.C.; daughters Alice Dawn Coombs and Vicki Lynn Brackins of Easley, S.C.; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. <BR><BR>A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at Sandy Plains Baptist Church with the Revs. Stephen Hensley and Don Motts officiating. <BR><BR>The family will receive friends one hour prior at the church. <BR><BR>Interment will follow at Evergreen, A Quiet Place. <BR><BR>Memorials may be made to Sandy Plains Baptist Building Fund, 5323 Union Rd.
