1935 - 2018

Dallas – Charles Yates Craft, Sr., 82 passed away peacefully on January 31, 2018 at his residence with his family by his side.

He was born in Gaston County on September 26, 1935 to the late Edwin Yates Craft and Catherine Reep Craft. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife Katherine Williams Craft and a son Charles Yates Craft, II.

Charlie was a member of the Berea Baptist Church. He retired as a sheet metalist. He enjoyed football and was a big Duke fan. He also enjoyed his beloved dogs CoCo and Flash.

Left to cherish his memories includes children, Sandy Foster, Pam (Joe) Picklesimer, Michael (Leslie) Craft; daughter-in-law; Melinda Ball Craft;
grandchildren, Michael (Rio) Foster, Timothy (Heather) Foster, Whitney Foster, Kim Craft, Brooke (Michael) Graves, Victoria Picklesimer, Laurel Hudson, Tiler Craft and Allison Craft; great grandchildren, Alex, Austin, MaKayla, Pete, Noah and Hailey; sisters Joan Taylor and Kay Davidson

The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Friday, February 2nd
at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home.

Celebration of life service will be 1:30 p.m., Saturday in the Chapel at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home with Reverend Dr. Rick Ivey officiating.

Interment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park, Mark I section with Military Honors by the Gaston County Honor Guard.
