Charles Everette Johnson, Jr. (Chuck) passed away on May 28th at his home. He was born on January 7th, 1956 in Gaston County to the late Julia Dominy Johnson Harbin and Charles E. Johnson, Sr. (Chic).
Chuck spent his boyhood in McAdenville and Cramerton playing in the creeks, fishing, and building go-carts with his friends. He never had a bicycle that he didn't take apart and reassemble at least twice. It was obvious at a young age that he was very mechanically inclined.
As he got older, it was his cars that he rebuilt to HIS specifications. His teen years were spent in Lowell where he and his friends spent a lot of time together playing softball, and with the Youth Group at the Little Rock Church. He was baptized there by Preacher Billy Jack Groves.
He finished high school then earned a degree in mechanics at Gaston College. He joined the Air Force where he enjoyed getting to travel and see some of the world, before returning to his family in Gaston County. He worked as a marine mechanic at Lakewood Marine for many years and loved that job.
Chuck loved his family more than anything in the world, especially his sisters. In his own quiet way, he showed that love many times by doing kind things for others. Our lives without him will never be the same.
Left to mourn the void he left are his sisters, Kim Norris (Jim) and Cindy Green (Arthur). His nephew Jeff Norris, his nieces Julie Mosely, Leslie Dill, Jamie Alford, and Amy Dill. His Aunt Billie Faye Pack and cousins that he was close to Duane and Chance Branham. Great-Niece and Nephew, Chloe Watson and Jaxon Alford.
A private memorial service will be held at Chuck's house, as he would have wanted it.
