Cecil H. Reneau

Gastonia – Cecil H. Reneau, Sr., 87 passed peacefully August 13, 2013 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center.
He was the son of the late James A. and Effie Wishon Reneau.
He was also preceded in death by his brother and sister in law Bob and Maxine Reneau; brother Jim Reneau; and sister Mary Jo Chapman.
Cecil attended Ashley High School in Gastonia. He served in the US Navy on the USS Wisconsin as a signalman during World War Two. He was a Plank Owner of the USS Wisconsin. Cecil was a retired salesman from Standard Parts Corp in Norfolk, VA.
Cecil is Survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Alice Marie Hamm Reneau; son Cecil Reneau Jr.; and "adopted son", Steve Publicover; all of Gastonia, NC., and special cousins
The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 pm Thursday August 15, 2013 at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home.
