Gastonia - Mrs. Catherine Taylor Matyisin, 94, passed away on July 12, 2015 at Alexandria Place.
She was born in New York City, New York on July 8, 1921 to the late John and Anna Futo Taylor.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son Michael J. Matyisin, grandson, Michael Matyisin
Catherine raised her family in New Jersey and later in life resided between North Carolina and Florida.
She loved being a homemaker, gardening, travel, all types of crafts and needlework. She retired from
University Hospital, Florida
Survivors include her loving husband of 74 years, Michael Matyisin; her daughter Irene M Purcell and companion Larry Mintz of Charlotte, Grandchildren Glenn L. Sisk, Jr. and Kevin J. Matyisin;
four great grandchildren
Visitation will be 1 hr prior to the service.
Christian Mass Service will be Tuesday, July 14th at 2:00 pm at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home with Reverend Mr. Art Kingsley officiating.
Interment will be at Gaston Memorial Park, Masonic II section
