Catherine Swayney Jones

Belmont-Catherine Swayney Jones, 82 of 103 Pine Street passed away peacefully October 20, 2013 at her residence.
She was a native of Gaston County, born April 20, 1931 to the late James Henry and Ina Brooks Swayney.
Catherine was retired from Burlington Industrials, and Belmont Hosiery.
She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Catherine enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, and making the best chocolate pies ever; she was a wonderful homemaker and loved her rose garden; and often traveling to Cherokee to visit her family. She was known as the Sweet Lady and her beautiful blue eyes. She was a member of Cramer Memorial Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Billy Gene Jones; her son Mike Jones and wife Lisa of Lincolnton; her daughter Annette Kaercher of Belmont; grandchildren Michael Jones and wife Christy, Courtney Davis and husband Mark, Harrison Jones, Allison and Zach Kaercher, Tim Tolbert and Julie Keener; Seven great grandchildren
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00pm Tuesday at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home
Private Graveside services will be 11:00am Wednesday at Gaston Memorial Park with Chaplain Carl officiating, with the Releasing of the Doves.
